The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) has suspended the training programs on weed management and best agronomic practices in cassava and maize farming systems for extension agents, farm managers, scheduled to hold on 2-3 April 2-3; 7-8 May and 4-5 June, 2020, till further notice.
A statement by issued by the Project Administrator for Cassava Projects, Mrs Ezinne Ibe, said the suspension was due to recent updates and the prevailing circumstances with regards to COVID-19 pandemic, and that the IITA was currently restricting travels and meetings as measures to manage the situation.

POSTPONEMENT: Training on weed management and best agronomic practices
Due to recent updates and the prevailing circumstances with regards to COVID-19 pandemic, please note that our training programs on weed management and best agronomic practices in cassava and maize farming systems for extension agents, farm managers, scheduled to hold on 2-3 April 2-3; 7-8 May and 4-5 June, 2020 have been suspended till further notice.
The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is currently restricting travels and meetings as measures to manage the situation and we have taken this decision to safeguard the health of participants.
Applications already received for the training remain valid. Once a new date is fixed, applicants will be notified and sent relevant training information.
